WATER BAPTISM.
Baptism is a First Step: Jesus taught those who trust in Him to begin following Him by being baptized. Jesus set the example by being baptized himself, and He taught His disciples to baptize new Christians.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them…” Matthew 28:19
Baptism is a Picture: The Bible describes and defines baptism as submerging someone under water. It’s a picture of what Jesus has done by dying for our sin and rising again. Baptism is an outward act that communicates a new believer’s trust in Jesus and commitment to follow Him.
“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:4
